Episode #167 | Theater Grottesco "Consider This" | May 8, 2014

John Flax & Danielle Reddick

Theater Grottesco is simply, powerful physical theater. Using original material created by the company, Grottesco creates a new kind of performance that is visual, explosive and full of surprise. The Grottesco Ensemble rekindles interest in live performance by juxtaposing classical and modern theatrical styles with a daring, poetic research of culture and imagination, giving voice to the marginal elements of our contemporary society.

Together they have created 11 full-length plays and over 30 shorter pieces, performed in 7 countries, 30 states, most major U.S. cities and hundreds of smaller communities, garnering an international award for Best Production, 2 Drama Critic’s awards, a silver medal with Detroit’s Zone V Productions, a Rockefeller MAP Fund Grant, 11 National Endowment for the Arts Professional Theater Awards, and more.
